a) Anti-corruption and anti-bribery

Giro Martinez and its affiliated entities or attorneys comply with a variety of anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws across the jurisdictions where we are present. Even though we may not be bound by the them, we commit to follow the provisions included in the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act. We comply with these obligations and advise our clients in relation to compliance with these obligations. As a Firm we have in place robust policies, training and procedures to ensure compliance with anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws globally, where applicable.

b) Anti-money laundering policy

We are committed to follow the highest standards that are required in the jurisdictions where we operate in relation to Anti-money laundering, and apply such principles in relation to all of our business in all of our offices or affiliated professionals. The Firm conducts client due diligence enquiries on each new client and persons connected with them and conducts ongoing monitoring of existing clients. These enquiries are based on the FATF Recommendations, and the EU Fourth Money Laundering Directive, although if additional information is required by the local rules of any country where we are being asked to work, that information will also be obtained. Where necessary for these purposes, we seek relevant information from third party data suppliers. Where individuals have supplied personal data for this purpose, we will only use it for that purpose and will keep it only as long as the relevant AML and data protection legislation requires.

The Firm also has internal procedures to ensure that any suspicions of money laundering are reported to the appropriate authorities where there is an obligation to do so. Lawyers and other relevant staff are provided with training on these issues.

c) Conflict of interests and confidentiality 

The purpose of GIRO MARTINEZ´s Policy Statement on Conflict of Interests is to explain how this provision will be interpreted and applied and more generally how GIRO MARTINEZ will seek to avoid and, where necessary, manage potential conflict situations.
