Karla is a pharmaceutical biological chemist and has worked in the area of Industrial Property, in particular in patents, for more than 12 years. She specializes in patents in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology field, having a degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma of Mexico (UNAM) and studied a Master’s Degree in Innovation and Technology Administration at the same university (Thesis in process).
Karla has worked in some of the most prestigious Mexican offices in intellectual property, becoming in one of them Vice-coordinator of patents in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological areas. Previously, she was awarded with a JICA-CONACYT scholarship in the Human Resources Training Program in the Mexico-Japan Global Strategic Association, participating as a researcher at the Osaka Institute of Technology, OIT.
In addition, Karla has collaborated with UNAM as a technical instructor of the course in molecular biology techniques “Molecular techniques for the identification of microorganisms: Crysoporthe cubensis case” and developed a professional internship at the National Institute of Cardiology (Ignacio Chávez) conducting molecular studies of cardiovascular diseases and their association with enzymatic and lipid mechanisms in the Mexican population.
