Honduras implements the online submission of trademark applications through the WIPO file system.

novembre 2022

The Wipo File information system has been implemented in Honduras as of August 2022 as the only means for the presentation of new trademark registration applications, writings, follow-up of files and for sending electronic notifications to users who are registered on the platform.

The presentation of this type of online application has been generated in Honduras since 2020 through the “No Queue” site, which is no longer in use.

The General Directorate of Intellectual Property (DIGEPIH) had been using the Wipo File platform institutionally; The opening and use of Wipo File to the public is generated with the purpose of facilitating the registration processes for users, as well as so that the efforts of both the interested parties and those of the Institution are jointly directed to generate reliable databases, without errors for the better benefit of all involved.

It is worth mentioning that this digital platform (Wipo File) was developed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in coordination with the Honduran Property Institute through the General Directorate of Intellectual Property.

To date, the online submission of applications, post-filing briefs, and compliance with requirements, does not exempt users from physically submitting all documents after digital submission.
